Anti-concurrent causation language (ACC)
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-000433
Policy wording that excludes coverage when a loss is caused by two or more perils, and at least one of those perils is excluded, regardless of the sequence in which they occur. This language is commonly found in property insurance policies to clarify that if an excluded peril contributes to a loss, no coverage is provided, even if a covered peril also contributed. It aims to prevent coverage for losses that might otherwise be argued as covered due to a concurrent covered cause.
