Responsible reporting entity (RRE)

An entity that must report certain information about Medicare beneficiaries to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) under Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007. This includes insurers, self-insured entities, and workers' compensation plans. The RRE provides data on settlements, judgments, awards, or other payments to beneficiaries.
