Medigap policy

A supplemental health insurance policy sold by private companies to cover costs not paid by Original Medicare, such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. These policies work with Medicare Part A and Part B to reduce out-of-pocket expenses for beneficiaries. There are standardized Medigap plans, identified by letters A through N, with varying levels of coverage.
