Subject policies

The underlying insurance contracts that are covered by a reinsurance agreement. These are the original policies issued by the primary insurer to its policyholders, which then become part of the portfolio ceded to a reinsurer. The terms and conditions of the reinsurance treaty directly relate to the risks and premiums associated with these subject policies.
