Voluntary Employees Beneficiary Association (VEBA)

A tax-exempt trust established by employers to provide certain welfare benefits to employees and their dependents, such as life insurance, health benefits, and disability coverage. Contributions to a VEBA are tax-deductible for the employer, and the earnings within the trust are generally tax-free. These associations are governed by Section 501(c)(9) of the Internal Revenue Code.
