Blue flu

A form of unofficial strike action taken by police officers or other public safety personnel, where a large number of employees call in sick simultaneously. This tactic is used to circumvent laws prohibiting strikes by public employees, creating a de facto work stoppage. It exerts pressure on employers to concede to demands without officially violating anti-strike statutes.
