Border patrol

A federal law enforcement agency responsible for securing the land and coastal borders of a country and preventing the illegal entry of people and contraband. In the United States, the U.S. Border Patrol operates under Customs and Border Protection, a component of the Department of Homeland Security. Its agents enforce immigration laws and conduct surveillance, interdiction, and apprehension activities.
