Department of Homeland Security

A cabinet-level department of the United States federal government with responsibilities in public security. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was created in response to the September 11 attacks and has a mission that includes counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, aviation security, border security, and disaster preparedness. Its component agencies include the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
