Co-operative (co-op)

A business or organization owned and controlled by its members, who use its services or products, rather than by external investors. Members typically have equal voting rights and share in the profits or benefits. In housing, a co-op involves residents owning shares in a corporation that owns the building, rather than owning their individual units directly.
