Convertible virtual currency

A type of digital asset that has an equivalent value in real currency, or that acts as a substitute for real currency. It can be exchanged for fiat currency or used to purchase goods and services. Bitcoin and Ethereum are examples of convertible virtual currencies that operate on decentralized blockchain networks.
