Conversion

An intentional tort involving the wrongful exercise of dominion and control over another person's personal property, to the exclusion of or inconsistent with the owner's rights. This act deprives the owner of their property, even if temporarily, and can lead to liability for the full value of the chattel. It differs from trespass to chattels, which involves a lesser interference.
