An object that is inherently dangerous and capable of causing death or serious bodily injury, or an object that is used in a manner likely to cause such harm. This classification depends on the item's design, its intended use, or how it is actually employed in a specific incident. Many jurisdictions define specific items, such as firearms or certain knives, as per se deadly weapons.
