Enter a judgment
Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-001878
To formally record the final decision of a court in a lawsuit into the official court records, an act performed by the court clerk. This administrative step makes the court's decision, whether from a jury verdict or a judge's ruling, official and legally binding on the parties. The date the judgment is entered is what starts the clock for filing an appeal, which is typically 30 days in U.S. federal civil cases.
