Follow-on offering

A subsequent issuance of shares by a publicly traded company after its initial public offering (IPO). These offerings can be either primary, where the company sells new shares to raise capital, or secondary, where existing shareholders sell their shares. Follow-on offerings are regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
