Hotchpot

The bringing together of property belonging to different persons into a common fund for the purpose of equal distribution. This legal principle applies when an heir has received an advancement from a deceased person during their lifetime. The advancement is added to the estate's total value before division, and then deducted from the heir's share to achieve fairness among all beneficiaries.
