Hot pursuit

The immediate and continuous pursuit by law enforcement of a suspect fleeing from a crime scene or attempting to evade arrest. This doctrine allows officers to cross jurisdictional boundaries that would otherwise restrict their authority. The pursuit must be initiated based on probable cause and without undue delay.
