Kangaroo court

An unofficial or sham proceeding that ignores recognized standards of law and justice, rendering a verdict that was determined in advance. It creates an appearance of a fair legal process but denies fundamental rights, such as the right to an impartial judge, the right to present evidence, or the right to counsel. The term is a pejorative used to describe any hearing, whether formal or informal, that is considered a mockery of justice and lacks legitimacy.
