Loss damage waiver

An optional agreement offered by rental companies, such as car rental agencies, that relieves the renter of financial responsibility for damage to the rented vehicle. This waiver is not insurance but a contractual agreement between the renter and the rental company. It covers costs associated with collision damage, theft, or vandalism to the rental car.
