Medical marijuana

Cannabis and cannabinoid products that a physician or other qualified clinician recommends or prescribes to treat a specific condition or relieve its symptoms. State laws that permit its use list qualifying conditions such as chronic pain, glaucoma and chemotherapy-induced nausea. Since an April 2026 federal order, state-licensed medical marijuana is classed in Schedule III while other marijuana stays in Schedule I, and the order is being challenged in court.
