Millage

A tax rate expressed as the number of mills per dollar of assessed property value, where one mill equals one-tenth of a cent or $0.001. This rate is used to calculate property taxes, often for local government services such as schools or fire departments. A millage rate of 10 means $10 in tax for every $1,000 of assessed value.
