Moot court
Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-003287
A simulated appellate court proceeding conducted by law students for training in legal argumentation and procedure. Participants analyze a hypothetical case, prepare written briefs, and present oral arguments before a panel of judges, who are typically professors, attorneys, or actual judges. Unlike mock trial, which simulates a trial-level proceeding with witnesses and evidence, moot court focuses exclusively on the application of law to a settled set of facts.
