Most favored nation

A clause in a contract or treaty requiring one party to provide the other party with any advantages, concessions, or immunities that it grants to a third party. In commercial agreements, this provision guarantees that a party receives terms at least as favorable as those offered to any other entity. The World Trade Organization (WTO) agreements require member countries to grant most-favored-nation status to all other members regarding trade in goods and services.
