Multidistrict litigation

A special federal procedure designed to consolidate numerous similar lawsuits filed in different federal district courts into a single court for pretrial proceedings. This consolidation aims to promote efficiency and consistency in discovery and other preliminary matters. After pretrial proceedings, cases that are not settled are typically remanded to their original courts for trial.
