Pretrial discovery

The formal process by which parties to a lawsuit exchange information and evidence before trial. This exchange allows each side to learn the facts of the case, identify potential witnesses, and assess the strengths and weaknesses of their claims or defenses. Common discovery methods include interrogatories, depositions, requests for production of documents, and requests for admissions.
