Pretrial lineup

A procedure in which a crime victim or witness is asked to identify a suspect from a group of individuals, typically including both the suspect and several look-alikes. This is conducted before a trial to test the reliability of an eyewitness identification. The Sixth Amendment right to counsel applies to post-indictment lineups.
