Lineup

A police identification procedure in which a suspect in a crime is placed among several other individuals, usually of similar appearance, for the purpose of being identified by a witness. The witness views the individuals and attempts to identify the perpetrator. Legal safeguards, such as the right to counsel, apply to lineups conducted after formal charges have been filed.
