Suspect

An individual who is believed to have committed a crime and is under investigation by law enforcement. This person has not yet been formally charged but is considered a potential perpetrator based on evidence or circumstances. A suspect has constitutional rights, including the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney, as established by the Miranda warnings.
