Official misconduct

An unlawful act committed by a public officer in the performance of their official duties, or the neglect of a duty required by their office. This can include malfeasance (doing an illegal act), misfeasance (improperly doing a legal act), or nonfeasance (failing to do a required act). Such conduct often carries criminal penalties or can lead to removal from office.
