Pseudonym name

A fictitious name adopted by a person to conceal their true identity, distinct from a legal name change. Authors, artists, and performers use pseudonyms for professional branding, while in legal proceedings, a party or witness may be permitted to use one, such as "Jane Doe," to protect their privacy or safety. Unlike an alias used for fraudulent purposes, a pseudonym is not inherently illegal.
