Standard player contract

A uniform agreement, known as an SPC, that governs the employment terms for all athletes within a professional sports league. This contract is collectively bargained between the league and the players' association and sets forth minimum salaries, benefits, and working conditions. Individual player negotiations then focus on terms not fixed by the SPC, such as salary above the minimum, bonuses, and contract length.
