Suspended sentence

A court-ordered punishment where a convicted defendant is not required to serve their jail or prison time immediately. The sentence is held in abeyance, contingent upon the defendant's compliance with specific conditions set by the court, such as probation, community service, or restitution. If the conditions are violated, the original sentence can be imposed.
