United Nations Security Council

The primary body within the United Nations responsible for maintaining international peace and security. It consists of fifteen members, five of whom are permanent members with veto power: China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Resolutions passed by the Security Council are legally binding on all UN member states.
