International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda

An ad hoc international court established by the United Nations Security Council in 1994 to prosecute individuals responsible for genocide and other serious violations of international humanitarian law committed in Rwanda during 1994. It also had jurisdiction over Rwandan citizens responsible for such violations in neighboring states. The ICTR completed its mandate in 2015.
