Cartage

The service of transporting goods by road over a short distance, such as within a single city, commercial area, or from a port to a local warehouse. This service involves the use of trucks or smaller vehicles for final-mile or first-mile delivery. Cartage fees are separate charges from the main freight cost and cover the local movement of a shipment before or after the primary transit leg.
