Carriage paid to (CPT)

An Incoterm where the seller arranges and pays for the transport of goods to a specified destination. Risk transfers from the seller to the buyer once the goods are delivered to the first carrier in the transport chain. Unlike the Carriage and Insurance Paid To (CIP) term, the seller has no obligation to purchase insurance for the goods on the buyer's behalf under Carriage Paid To (CPT) rules.
