Adaptive observational network
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003289
A system of meteorological sensors and platforms whose deployment or sampling strategy can be dynamically adjusted based on evolving atmospheric conditions or specific forecast needs. This network design allows for targeted data collection in areas of high uncertainty or rapid change, improving the accuracy of weather forecasts. For example, unmanned aerial vehicles might be deployed into a hurricane's path to gather more detailed data.
