AERO code

A standardized format for transmitting meteorological reports from an aircraft in flight to a ground station. The code contains information on the aircraft's position, flight level, and observations of wind, temperature, turbulence, icing, and other significant weather phenomena encountered along its route. This code has been largely superseded by automated reporting systems like AMDAR (Aircraft Meteorological Data Relay).
