Aerological station

A meteorological observing station equipped to conduct regular measurements of atmospheric conditions in the upper air. These stations typically launch radiosondes or rawinsondes to obtain vertical profiles of temperature, humidity, pressure, and wind speed and direction. Data from these stations are transmitted globally and used for weather forecasting and atmospheric research.
