Alisov's classification of climate

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003433

A genetic climate classification system based on the geographic location and seasonal migration of large-scale air masses. The system defines seven primary climate zones based on the dominant air mass type: one equatorial, two tropical, two temperate, and two polar. It also includes six transitional zones between the primary ones, which experience seasonal shifts in air mass dominance, resulting in a total of 13 climate types.
