Bergeron classification

A system for classifying air masses based on their temperature and moisture characteristics, developed by Tor Bergeron. Air masses are categorized by their source region (polar or tropical) and their surface over which they form (continental or maritime). This classification provides a shorthand for describing the general properties of large bodies of air.
