Artificial precipitation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003642
Rain, snow, or other forms of moisture that fall from clouds as a result of human intervention, rather than natural atmospheric processes. This is most commonly achieved through cloud seeding, where substances like silver iodide or dry ice are dispersed into clouds to encourage droplet formation and growth. The effectiveness of artificial precipitation techniques can vary depending on cloud characteristics and atmospheric conditions.
