Bora fog

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003977

A type of advection fog that forms when cold, dry bora wind flows over relatively warmer sea surface temperatures. The air picks up moisture from the sea, and as it continues to cool, it reaches saturation, leading to fog formation. This phenomenon is common along the Adriatic coast during strong bora events.
