Blowing spray
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003956
Water droplets lifted from the surface of a large body of water, such as an ocean or large lake, by strong winds. This phenomenon is common during high winds and rough seas, where waves break and the wind carries the resulting spray into the air. It can reduce visibility and contribute to sea salt aerosol formation.
