Borino

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003986

A light and gentle form of the bora wind, occurring along the Adriatic coast, especially near Trieste. Unlike the fierce, gusty bora, the borino is a much weaker northeasterly wind that brings fair weather. It is most frequently observed during the summer months when the large-scale pressure gradients that drive the strong bora are absent.
