Raffiche

A sudden, brief increase in wind speed, often associated with convective activity or the passage of a frontal system. This phenomenon is characterized by a rapid onset and cessation, lasting only a few seconds to a minute. Raffiche events can cause localized damage and are distinct from sustained strong winds or gusts, which imply a longer duration.
