A rain squall at sea in the waters of New Guinea, a sudden, violent burst of wind and rain over coastal water rather than a lasting regional wind. The name comes from local usage in New Guinea and appears in lists of local winds. It differs from the bora and the mistral, which are cold, dry downslope winds of Mediterranean coasts.
