New Guinea Coastal Undercurrent

A subsurface ocean current flowing eastward beneath the westward-flowing New Guinea Coastal Current, along the northern coast of New Guinea. This undercurrent is a component of the complex equatorial current system in the western Pacific. It transports warm, saline water and is influenced by topography and remote forcing.
