Equatorial water
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005429
Oceanic water masses located within the equatorial region, characterized by relatively warm temperatures and lower salinity due to high precipitation and river runoff. These waters are influenced by strong solar radiation and complex current systems, including the Equatorial Undercurrent. They are a primary source region for heat transfer to higher latitudes.
