Guiana Current

A warm ocean current flowing westward along the northeastern coast of South America, from the mouth of the Amazon River to the Lesser Antilles. It is a continuation of the North Brazil Current and contributes to the broader South Equatorial Current system. This current transports warm, fresh water from the Amazon into the Caribbean Sea.
