North Brazil Current

A warm, westward-flowing ocean current that originates off the coast of northeastern Brazil, carrying water from the South Equatorial Current. It transports tropical Atlantic waters towards the Caribbean Sea, often forming large eddies that detach and move northwestward. This current is a component of the South Atlantic subtropical gyre.
